March 16th, 2011 - Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport Turns Out the Lights on March 26th for Earth Hour
On March 26 at 8:30 pm, Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport will celebrate Earth Hour by joining millions of people around the world in turning out the lights to help raise awareness about global warming.
An annual international lights out event, Earth Hour encourages individuals and businesses to stand up, take responsibility, and get involved in leading the global community to a more sustainable future. This year the Sandalwood Suites hotel will participate by educating guests on the Earth Hour initiative and switching off all non essential lights in public areas, vacant rooms, lobby and breakfast lounge.

February 18, 2011 - Friend in Need Raises $3750 For Local Charity
As a part of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts' 2010 Friends in Need program initiative, Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport donated $10 from every room occupied between December21-28, 2010. A cheque of $3750 was presented on February 05,2011 at Etobicoke Olympium Pool to Martin Mallory- President, Etobicoke Swim Club.
March 27th, 2010 - Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport Participates in Earth Hour

Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport participated in the 2010 Earth Hour event from 8.30pm
to 9.30pm on Saturday, March27, 2010. At the hotel the front desk team informed hotel guests
about the event and asked for everyone to take part. All vacant guest rooms were shutdown and
the hotel turned off all non essential lights in public areas, including the lobby, meeting rooms
and breakfast room. In addition to the hotel's efforts, 24 staff members participated in the
worthwhile event at home.
March 15th, 2010 - Friend in Need Raises $2420 For Local Charity
Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport's tenth annual Friends in Need holiday promotion raised
$2420 for Etobicoke Swim Club. Running during the December holiday period, the annual Friends
in Need promotion offered travellers discounted room rates at the hotel with $10 for each night's
stay going to Etobicoke Swim Club. A Cheque of $2420 will be presented to Mr. Robert Earp -
President, Etobicoke Swim Club in February,2010.
March 1, 2010 - Peacocks take a vacation for summer 2010
It is with sadness that the Sandalwood Suites Hotel Toronto Airport announces that our famous
courtyard peacocks will not be joining us at the hotel this summer. The peacocks have decided
to take a much needed vacation of their own this year but will miss their beautiful courtyard
surroundings. We wish them a wonderful trip!

2009 Sandalwood Annual Client BBQ
May 27, 2009 - Our our annual corporate client barbecue lunch was held at the hotel in the Aviary
Lounge and Centennial Room. Guests dined on an array of barbecue dishes while enjoying live
music by Richard Howe. During their time at the hotel, our lunch guests were able to take a
tour of the hotel suites and facilities.

the Peacock Flies to Higher Heights
March 25, 2009 - Piper the peacock has fled the coop! Since Sandalwood Suites Hotel's inception
in 1988, peacocks have been in the courtyard garden located at the hotel. Just this week, two-year-old
Piper reached new heights when he flew high above the hotel to a new destination. Piper can now
be found perched atop a tree just a few blocks away from the hotel.
